This page is
dedicated to
the Faulkner Family and all of their descendants. Following will be
information pertaining to the
Faulkners that have a direct link to our McClinton/McLintonFamilies.
Hopefully you will find a connection here to your ancestors. If
that is the case, then please feel free to send an e-mail to the author
of these pages and share information and possibly photos of your
ancestors. Almost all of this information that we have put up on this
page is with the help of some very dedicated researchers and
ancestors of some these people mentioned. This branch of the Faulkners
has been traced back to Belfast, County Antrim, N. Ireland in the late
1700's and their arrival to Canada has been found to be around
1824. They settled in Goulbourn Township, Carleton County,
Ontario, Canada. Two of the Faulkner women, Mary and Margaret,
married McClinton men, Peter and Hugh. So there is a very strong
connection between the two families in Canada. Our information is
alittle thin for the elder generation and we'd love to get more
information on any of the following members, their spouses and children
of these families.
Robert Faulkner b: 1793 in
Antrim County, N. Ireland. Died: November 6, 1865 in Goulbourn Township,
Carleton County, Ontario, Canada. Married to Mary McKibban
b: 1791 in Antrim County, N. Ireland. Died: July 20, 1865 in Goulbourn
Township, Carleton County, Ontario, Canada. Both are buried in St.
John's Anglican Cemetery in Richmond, Goulbourn Township. Robert and
Mary came to Canada
in 1834 with 3
children and his sister Elizabeth, with her husband, Andrew
Curren.
Robert and Mary had seven children. Six
daughters and one son. Mary and Margaret Faulkner's family information
is completed on their respective husbands' sites with names and dates
of offspring and spouses. Just click on their names to go to their
information. More information would be appreciated concerning the
remainder of Robert and Mary's daughters. please click the e-mail icon
at the bottom of this page and send an e-mail. Further down the page is
a link to Andrew Faulkner's information. Enjoy the
photographs and continue down the page to the link for Andrew Faulkner

In 1835, Robert Faulkner purchased 100 acres of land for 100
pounds,
east of the 'Kenny Farm' on the 'Forced Road. In 1844, 50 acres were
sold for 50 pounds to Andrew Faulkner, whose farm was then operated in
turn by Albert Faulkner, Reg Faulkner and Ray Faulkner in succeeding
generations. In 1905 Albert Frederick Faulkner purchased 50 acres of
the McClinton Farm
bordering to the east.

St.
John the Baptist Anglican Cemetery in
Richmond, Goulbourn Twsp. Carleton County, Ontario was established in
1834. It is situated on Fortune Street in Richmond, Ont. between St.
Phillip's Catholic and St Andrew's Presbyterian cemeteries on the east
side of the street. The above photo was
taken April 29,
2003. The following photos of the headstone were taken April 10, 2008.
There is so much
weathering on the headstone that it is almost impossibleto make out the
engraved lettering on the stone. The water laying around the
gravemarker and the mushy ground made it hard to get close to the
headstone for better photos.
You can see the changes in the
headstone's lettering and how much it
has been affected by the years of exposure.
We are losing a great part of our past because of the ravages of time.
The elements are taking a severe toll on
this particular link to our very important heritage. The actual
lettering on the headstone reads as follows:
IN MEMORY OF
ROBERT FAULKNER
DIED NOV. 18, 1865
AGED 72 YEARS
HIS WIFE
MARY MCKIBBAN
DIED JULY 20, 1865
AGED 74 YEARS.
